Description

Metallic materials of GMN seal components series L/M guarantee highest resistance against coarse and fine contamination. Metallic materials are suitable for temperatures up to 200 °C. The L design is particularly suited for use with normal spray load for rotating shafts and hubs. Technical data: Outer ring: Aluminum (GD AlSi 12) Inner ring: Non-alloy steel Range of temperature: -40 °– 200 °C Shaft diameter: 15 – 210 mm Width: 10, 14, 15, 20, 22 mm (depending on size) Gap height: Constantly 0.2 – 0.5 mm (depending on size) Sealing gap: Horizontal Axial play: Sax see table of dimensions (total axial movement from one end position to the other) Increased axial clearance: Sax – 1.5 x Sax (on request all types are also available with increased axial play) order name: L dxDxB with increased axial play Radial clearance: Srad = Sax /tan (42.5°) Characteristics: Frictionless: Thanks to their non-contact design, GMN labyrinth seals guarantee completely frictionless operation. Wear-free: GMN seal components work completely wear-free and offer an unlimited service life. Abrasion-free: The non-contact design of GMN seal components guarantees operation free from metal abrasion that fulfills the highest cleanliness requirements. Effective: The small distance between the outer and inner ring of just approx. 0.2–0.5 mm guarantees a high sealing effect and highly effective protection from fouling. Heat-free: Because no friction heat is generated, neither the seal nor the adjacent components or the lubricant are subjected to thermal loads.
