Description

Graphite sheets Hexaflex™ type P1 are manufactured using Hexaflex™ graphite foils followed by further reinforcement with a 0.1 mm (.004″) thick tanged stainless steel (or other alloy) insert to enhance surface load and blow-out safety. We use another patented technology which allows us to manufacture and integrate any width of steel reinforcement without any discontinuity of the metal which in turn gives the finished gaskets smooth and equal reinforcement at any point of surface. The sheets are designed to provide reliable long-term service and suitable for most industrial fluid sealing applications. Due to high thermal and mechanical resistance Hexaflex™ sheets type P1 are a perfect solution for applications with drastic thermal changes and pressure fluctuations. APPLICATIONS: Flange connections for piping, vessels, machinery; Chemical and petrochemical industries, processing industries; Steam systems. MAIN FEATURES AND PROPERTIES Single piece steel core for both 1000 mm (40″) and 1500 mm (60″) sheets available; Impermeability to gases and fluids; Great chemical and thermal resistance; Suitable for oxidising and corrosive medias (Hexaflex™ Σ Sigma); Blow-out safety; Zero sulphur and halogen content; High recovery and compressibility; Good leakage properties (DIN 3535-6); Fire-safety approved (API Specification 6FB – Hexaflex™ Σ Sigma); Low coefficient of friction; No aging, no creep relaxation; Easy to cut and handle. OPERATION RANGE Temperature range from -195 °C / -319 °F up to 450 °C / 842 °F (in water steam – 650 °C / 1202 °F).
