Flue gases cleaning from gaseous toxins and polyaromatic compounds (odors).
An activated carbon sorbent is used as an active absorber in the filter cassette.
During normal operation of the filter, the capacity of the sorbent is designed for a service life of ~ 1 year.
After the end of the service life, the sorbent to be regenerated or replaced.
Activated carbon sorbent regeneration methods:
extraction with organic solvents;
dissociation of a weak electrolyte in an equilibrium solution;
removal of the absorbed substance with water steam;
evaporation of the absorbed substance under the action of an inert gaseous heat carrier flow.
Exhausted activated carbon must be stored in sealed containers before transferring for disposal
(regeneration) to special organizations that have permission to hazardous waste operations.
