With an extensive background in fertilizer production, the Drum Granulator is the equipment designed for converting powdered materials into round pellets in high capacities.
THEORY OF OPERATION of the AGGLOMERATON DRUM (also named ROTARY GRANULATOR) : The product to be granulated is fed regularly into the drum with a constant flow distributor. The product is driven by the rotation of the drum and is rolled, forming a granule much in the same way as a snowball.
This agglomeration drums are used are versatile pieces of equipment that can process a wide variety of materials and used for different processes of agglomeration :
- - Granulation – For the granulation of both organic and inorganic fertilizers
- - Heap Leaching/Ore Beneficiation – For the agglomeration of ore fines such as gold, silver, nickel, and copper
- - Coating – For the application of an external coating layer with specific performance on handling
- - Balling – For the agglomeration of fines in industrial processes
DESIGN: Heavy duty welded sheet metal structure. Round carbon steel drum or stainless steel for corrosive products, mounted on ring gear systems and driven chain and sprockets, or gear and pinion, or friction. Designed cover and the inlet and oulet with specific sealing systems.
Different preparation for the agglomeration product could be adjusted according to the flow, the temperature, the concentration, the viscosity of the product.
ADVANTAGES: Very adapted for high capacity unit with high efficiency. Often working in addition of accessories such as pipe reactors, discharge trommel screens or spargers.
APPLICATIONS :
- Fertilizers
- Fly ash
- Dust
