Long-lasting innovations always arise when you are looking for a decisive idea, capable of solving the most difficult problems: at the end of the twenty-first century, the packaging market was focused on the goal of creating new materials that were eco-friendly. -sustainable and at the same time endowed with exceptional protective properties.
In 2001 Grifal S.p.A. has decided to satisfy this need by combining the characteristics of the two materials most commonly used in the sector, corrugated cardboard and expanded polyethylene, to create a new line of products.
The transition from ideation to actual production of Mondaplen® took place in 2003, the same year in which Grifal patented the process in the most important industrialized markets in the world.
The main competitive advantage of Mondaplen® is that it allows less raw material to be used, making it lighter than equivalent products, without having lower performance; in some cases it even surpasses materials of greater weight and thickness.
The results are evident today: Mondaplen® is a proven success in the packaging market and is expanding its application fields also in different sectors such as home furnishings, sports protections and sound-absorbing materials.
Mondaplen® comes in sheet or coil form.
It consists of the coupling, obtained by means of hot air, of two or three sheets of expanded polyethylene or other heat-sealable materials.
It maintains a high adaptability even in the high thickness variants, combining the corrugated conformation of the cardboard with the flexibility of the expanded polyethylene.
