The general provisions for “Electromagnetic devices and components” were considered in accordance with DIN VDE 0580 during development/design. This bistable direct current (DC) pull solenoid with nickel-­plated plunger and casing uses a cost-effective pull actuator design. The plunger, plus customer-specified ball end is mounted directly within the coil body. Stroke limitation is integrated into the design. This solenoid, which is designed for pulse duty, is also equipped with an embedded permanent magnet and a return spring. The electromagnetic force is utilised for stroke actuation and the permanent magnetic force is used for current-free retention of the final stroke position. The switch operation (plunger return = neutralisation of the permanent magnetic force) is triggered by a negative, reduced voltage impulse (matched to the external customer-specified load). Coil design The coil body has two axially-mounted, square-profile connector pins with a 90° turn.
