The general provisions for “Electromagnetic devices and components” were considered in accordance with DIN VDE 0580 during development/design. This direct current (DC) pull solenoid with plunger and punched yoke bar uses a cost-effective pull actuator design. The plunger is mounted directly within the coil body. Stroke limitation is configured externally by the customer. This solenoid, which is designed for pulse duty, is also equipped with embedded permanent magnets. The electromagnetic force is utilised for stroke actuation and the permanent magnetic force is used for current-free retention of the final stroke position. The switch operation (plunger return = neutralisation of the permanent magnetic force) is triggered by a negative, reduced voltage impulse (matched to the opposing force from the return spring and the external customer-specified load). A customer-made pressure spring (spring force > current-free magnetic force at starting stroke position) plus customer-specified stroke limitation produces a bistable design.
