Description

Excellent FST performance (Evaluated against ISO11925-2 & EN13501-1; other certifications pending) Withstands high process temperatures Good adhesion and mechanical properties Recyclable Gurit® Kerdyn™ Green FR have been developed to respond to the growing need for structural core materials with stable properties and improved resin uptake performance. Additionally the Gurit® Kerdyn™ Green FR allows to comply with the Marine, Civil and Transportation markets needs for material with good Fire, Smoke and Toxicity (FST) properties. It offers a much lower cost FST material compared to high cost / high performance materials such as PMI (Rohacell), PEI (Ultem), PES (DIAB F) foams, addressing lower requirements and needs. Starting with Gurit® Kerdyn™ Green extruded recycled structural PET core, flame retardant additives are added to improve FST properties. The manufacturing process remains the same as Gurit® Kerdyn™ Green, with slight variation in process settings. Typical Applications Gurit® Kerdyn™ Green FR can be processed at high temperatures, withstanding high exotherms and offers outstanding chemical resistance, good adhesion; as highly consistent extruded foam, it is ideal for wind energy, marine, industrial, and transportation applications. Applicable processing techniques include vacuum infusion, bonding, prepreg, and thermoforming. Available in a wide range of thicknesses.
