The SSHP-38 Safety shutter with diode pointer is designed to temporarily terminate laser beam emissions for user safety. When the shutter is closed, the laser beam is reflected off of the shutter blade into a beam dump to terminate the beam.
The replaceable beam dump can be ordered in several styles. The blade is designed for fail-safe operation and is automatically closed in the absence of power. The unit is to be mounted in line (co-linear) with the laser beam to be terminated. While in safe mode an optional red laser pointing diode will replace the original beam if desired. The diode pointer option utilizes a 650nm diode laser with ¼"-80 pitch adjustment screws for pointer beam alignment.
