Haimo Water Cut Meter (WCM) is a Dual-Energy Gamma Meter (DGM) and determines the Water-Liquid Ratio (WLR) of three-phase (gas, water and oil) flow with Gas Volume Fraction (GVF) up to 100%. The meter is independent of state of flow, phase miscibility such as emulsion, heavy oil and phase transition.
WCM utilizes the gamma ray propagation and absorption principle and dual-energy gamma ray measurement technology. Oil, gas and water fractions are computed in real time under production conditions, through the combination of gamma ray attenuation equations at two energy levels, and a unity assumption of phase fractions. By solving this system of equations, three phase fractions expressed in terms of Gas Volume Fraction (GVF) and WLR are obtained.
