The Hammar 160 is a proven sidelifter model, designed with simplicity and reliability in mind. With 36 tonnes lifting capacity it can easily handle fully loaded containers. It has the lowest tare weight on the market for any sidelifter model with a lifting capacity over 30 tonnes, from 7.1 tonnes with 20’-40’ capacity and 3 axles. The support legs move in a fixed arc and can be placed in two positions: on ground level or on top of a companion chassis or railroad wagon. The Hammar 160 is the best choice when you want to maximize your payload. It is excellent at lifting to/from the ground, and works well when transferring to/from some companion chassis. The Hammar 160 is fast, easy and safe for lifting containers to/from ground level. A full handling cycle only takes 3-4 minutes. Hammar 160 can transfer to/from a number of other chassis types. The support legs are both placed onto the companion chassis or with one support leg behind or in front of it. Hammar 160 can be equipped with 30 tonnes stacking capacity, enabling stacking of two 8’6” containers. Two extra support legs are mounted on the non-lifting side for safety and extra stability. The S-chassis is a fixed length, and has sliding cranes meaning it can handle multiple container sizes. It has a straight forward design and the lowest tare weight of all Hammar chassis. It is the most common model used world-wide. Also available with fixed cranes for single size containers upon request.
