Hänel Lean-Lift® clusters: dynamic, flexible, robust
Since Hänel Lean-Lift® systems fully utilize the vertical space available,
storage is optimized through high-density within a small footprint.
That's why SITEMA installed Hänel Lean-Lifts® in its new production facility to utilize the vertical height of 15 meters – from floor to ceiling – to save floor space. SITEMA benefits from all the advantages of a dynamic storage strategy thanks to the intelligent interaction of Hänel technology and the viadat warehouse management system (WMS) from Viastore Systems. SITEMA is the world's only enterprise that specializes in the development and production of safety brakes, catchers and locks for various industrial applications.
When constructing its new production facility, SITEMA invested in three Hänel Lean-Lift® systems, each with a height of 15 meters, to store heavy pallets containing about 300 different kinds of machined metal parts. System operators can conveniently pull out the pallets, some weighing up to 700 kg, using sturdy rails when retrieving metal parts needed for production. Hänel also installed two additional Lean-Lifts® of the same type and size for storing some 4,600 smaller manufacturing components.
Preallocation management, fast movers, returns
If, when putting incoming items into stock, the operator notices that there is an immediate need for preallocated parts on the assembly line, these items do not have to go into storage and then be retrieved – instead, they can move directly to the assembly area as part of an order that is just being completed.
