V-belt is an adherence power transmission belt. It can be classified into four kinds, such as wrapping, raw, agricultural and automotive V-Belts. It provides the best combination of traction, speed of movement and long service life. The equipment are generally endless and its cross-section shape is trapezoidal. Its V-shape tracks in a mating groove in the pulley, with the result that the belt cannot slip off. V-belt also tends to wedge into the groove as the load increases. The greater the load, the greater the wedging action. Preferred center distance is larger than the largest pulley diameter, but less than three times the sum of both pulleys.
