These highly effective spring steel 'U' Nuts are lightweight easily installed low cost fasteners. They are used to provide strong thread forms for thin sheets that would otherwise be incapable of accepting a thread. Manufactured to suit a range of sheet thickness in one clip means that one part could be used for several different applications.
