HDD’s ball screw servo motor transforms the motor axel rotation to an axial movement. The ball screw servo motor is designed to directly drive a spindle nut. By integrating the ball screw in the centre hole of the motor shaft you can receive a compact direct driven solution for axial movements.
We adapt the motor/screw solution for each application. Therefore, we prefer to calculate and propose a motor based on your specific condition like axial load, speed, and duty cycle.
The ball screw motor is based on our HSM motor that is adapted for different ball screw nuts and, if needed, enforced bearings to handle the axial load. There are no standard assortment as different types of ball screws are needed for different applications.
Most of our ball screw motor customers supply the ball screw and nut themselves and we adapt the rotor shaft for that specific ball screw nut.
Screws with a diameter of 20, 25, 32 and 40 mm can be used depending on frame size.
Ball screw applications with the larger 14-series motor can be provided on special request.
