Vertex pressure testing of GRP pipes
Universal testing machine inspekt SH 500kN with adjustable test space
Pipe systems from centrifugally cast glass fibre-reinforced polyester resin are used primarily in the water and waste water sectors. The pipe diameter can vary here between 150mm and 4000mm. With the pipes being exposed to pressure loads internally and externally, determination of the mechanical key values plays a decisive role in the characterisation of the material properties. Characteristic key values are the vertex pressure strength per DIN EN 1228 as well as the compressive and circumferential expansion. All values are determined circumferentially and longitudinally. Hegewald & Peschke MPT GmbH offers the 4-column testing machine inspekt SH 500kN with central loading spindle up to 500kN. Using this testing machine it is possible to test pipe diameters up to 4000mm. For this purpose the pipe sections are "rolled" into the test space at ground level. In order to test pipes with small diameters it is possible to drive the complete yoke by means of an electric motor into the respective required test position.
The material testing software LabMaster developed by Hegewald & Peschke also takes over management of the measurement data of external test devices here, such as burst testers, thickness and width measuring devices, and Vicat devices.
