Garter Springs
Custom Garter Spring Supplier
Garter springs are generally made from carbon steel or stainless steel round wire and are formed similarly to standard extension and compression springs, except for the two ends' connection. Compression garter spring design creates a contracting force similar to a rubber band and is often used to hold items together. In contrast, extension garter springs make an expanding force and are often used to create a seal. Garter springs are used in a variety of industries including aerospace, industrial, and oil and gas. Common applications include electrical connectors, motion control, climate control, pneumatics, filtration, fluid and gas handling, sealing, and shielding.
These springs come in a few different types, including compression garter springs and extension garter springs. The difference between the two versions is the direction of the force exerted. Compression garter springs exert force outward, while extension garter springs exert force inward.
