Helical springs usually produce higher loads over a smaller deflection range which is why they're used for many applications including as Spring Replacements for O-Ring Loaded U-Cup Seals. Our standard helical spring products are produced using Stainless Steel or Elgiloy. MW offers helical spring lengths up to 10' and stocks seven standard thicknesses of Elgiloy to minimize lead times and expensive minimum order quantities. We also supply one lb. coils of raw material for you to roll your own helical springs if you so desire.
Looking for pre-cut and welding springs? Provide the desired center-line diameter, and we are happy to coil, cut, and weld the helical spring(s) you need using our state-of-the-art Laser Weld Technology.
Helical Wound Springs Overview
Helical wound springs are created to shape a ceaseless roundabout helix geometry twisted from rectangular metallic strip stock. Helical wound spring outlines are accessible in cross-areas from 1/16″ to 5/8″; custom cross-segments under 1/16″ are accessible for little polar exactness applications. Principals of spring stacking mechanics and weight actuation are the same as clarified with the “U” & “V”- Formed springs.
Helical wound spring plans create generously higher burden per inch redirection values when contrasted with the cantilever “U” & “V”- molded springs. Because of the outline way of the seal coat geometry these sorts of plans are fundamentally utilized for static and/or lower element seal applications.
