Thick shims are used to assist with heavy equipment installations. Our thick shims are produced using a solid plate of A36 steel or 302/304 stainless steel and are manufactured to withstand intense external pressures. We produce thick shims in a variety of thicknesses from .187” to 1”. Custom Thick Shims We produce thick shims in various sizes, made from either steel or stainless steel. Thick Shim Manufacturing Our line of thick shims are produced similarly to our standard shims and have the same geometric shape and uncoated finish; however, they are cut via water jet technology. Water jet cutting is a precise method of cutting difficult materials and provides a clean cut with zero taperings. Unlike laser cutting, our 5-Axis Waterjet Cutting System eliminates slag in heat-affected areas.
