Description

Explosion-proof sensors allow explosions to occur inside electrical instruments, so they do not prevent ignition. However, the housing is designed and constructed to prevent explosions from escaping the instrument. Therefore, although an internal explosion occurs, it will not spread into the explosive environment. These explosion-proof enclosures can incorporate a number of different design elements to achieve their goals. HENGKO explosion-proof sensor housing is made of 316L stainless steel and aluminum for maximum corrosion protection. A sinter-bonded flame arrestor provides the gas diffusion path to the sensing elements while maintaining the flameproof integrity of the assembly. Sensing elements are specially designed for maximum poison resistance and long life in harsh industrial environments, with sensor life typically 2 years or more.
