The SOLO counterboring tool is available in two variants. On the one hand, there is SOLO for machining materials at high cutting speeds and on the other, SOLO2 for machining at low cutting speeds.
Construction
With SOLO and SOLO2, HEULE offers extremely robust counterboring tool systems. The combination of a mechanical process steps description and simple construction guarantees maximum process reliability and minimal maintenance. Externally, the two systems are nearly identical. However, the mechanical setup is different.
The control unit and shank are standard on both variants. Blade housing, blade control and blade are custom-designed to meet customer requirements. The control unit contains two centrifugal weights and is sealed against dirt and coolant. The manually replaceable carbide blade’s cutting geometry and coating are material-specific.
Process steps description
The SOLO counterboring tool can be used quickly without a torque support or any machine adaptation. The counterboring is done from the same side as the previous bore machining. Using the centrifugal force generated by the activation speed, the manually replaceable cutting edge is reliably extended.
When the spindle is stopped, the integrated centrifugal weights are located in the centre of the control unit. The centrifugal weights move outwards to the stop when the spindle is activated at the activation speed. When the spindle stops, the centrifugal weights are returned to their initial position by return springs. This radial movement is converted into a rotary movement and transmitted to the blade control by a gear. An eccentrically positioned bolt in the blade control engages in a groove on the .
