The Hiden cluster components include 9mm and 20mm pole diameter quadrupole assemblies with high-power RF operating at optimum frequency to accommodate high mass transmission required in cluster analysis
The quadrupole analyser is a precision assembled triple mass filter with unique, independently driven RF only secondary filter stages preceding and following the primary mass filter. A UHV low profile electron impact ioniser with twin oxide coated iridium filaments and a pulse ion counting single channel electron multiplier detector are included as standard. A Faraday detector option extends the dynamic range to 5 x 1010.
Mass range options for the cluster series are: 1000, 2500, 4000, 5000, and 20,000 amu
The quadrupole analyser includes an electron bombardment ion source for analysis of neutral species. Ionised species may be directly measured, the analyser reference potential (pole bias) being variable through the range +/- 100 eV.
