HME brass rods are already perfectly compliant with the strictest national requirements on lead content prevailing across Europe. In the US, a set of specific regulations requiring lead-free materials in contact with drinking water are currently in place in California and Vermont (Bills 1953 of California and S.0152 of Vermont) and will go into effect in Maryland on January 1st 2012 (HB.357). Similar evolution is expected at a federal level (H.R. 5289).
