Briquetting presses in the BrikStar M range process short, loose swarf produced as a result of machining non-ferrous metals, steel and castings, and also for example aluminium chips. The compression takes place in a cylinder press using a compression mould and a pressure of up to 350 MPa. Two horizontally-mounted, main compression cylinders compress the material simultaneously from both sides into a briquette shape. The pressure in the moulding frame is exerted on the face of the briquettes. Compression by this method guarantees that the material is highly and uniformly compacted.
The BrikStar M Model provides a throughput from 200 kg/h up to 1000 kg/h. The moulds have a diameter of between 60 and 90 mm. The resulting briquette has an average length 60-100 mm and a weight of up to 2.5 kg. The press has a container and an oil cooler for multi-shift operation. Optionally, other container sizes, as well as a full-container-alarm to control an external feed mechanism are available on request.
