Description

When energy and flammable substances get involved with each other, caution is called for. Because if the concentration of a flammable substance – for example solvents from paints – is sufficiently high as a gas, mist, vapor or dust and there is also oxygen (e.g. from the air) in the gas mixture, then an ignition source is enough to trigger an explosion! And in a drying cabinet or drying chamber, such an explosive situation can quickly arise. Ignition sources in such a system include hot surfaces, static charges, sparks and mechanical impact or friction sparks. Thus, there are several ignition sources in a heating chamber, and these must be adequately secured so that no hazardous situation arises. Therefore, if in doubt, it is better to opt for an explosion-proofed solution from HORO. Paint drying cabinet in accordance with EN 1539 / BGV D 24: perfecting explosion-proof painting A paint drying cabinet in accordance with EN 1539 / BGV D 24 is suitable for processing small quantities of explosive vapours and gases. The primary protective measure here is to limit the concentration of explosive substances so that no ignitable gas mixtures are produced. EX- proofed heating cabinets are needed in case larger amounts of explosive vapour and gases are present or if the cabinet is placed in an atmosphere related to zone 1 or zone 2. A distinction is made between the following designs: EX- proofed working volume inside the heating cabinet installed in a harmless ambient. Installation inside EX- zone 2 or EX- zone 1 with the electronic control outside of EX- zone 2. This is an economic version which does not need any additional measures for the control cabinet outside.
