Witte Scooter: The unmanned shuttle system
In automated processes, feeding and positioning of workpieces on gantry measuring machines or rotary tables often proves to be a temporal bottleneck. The unmanned, self-controlled shuttle system Scooter from Witte closes this logistics gap.
The Witte Scooter consists of an autonomously navigating drive unit as well as a functional unit for loading and transferring a working base - for example a grid base plate or pallet with a mounted workpiece. As an autonomously acting feeder, the scooter shuttles on programmed routes between one or more loading stations and measuring systems. And does this with millimeter precision during transfer and positioning. Not bound to rail systems or induction loops, the scooter adapts quickly and flexibly to any room geometry.
