The MIRA 5 is smallest of the MIRA laser cutters but is still incredibly effective and reliable.
The standard tube for this machine is 40W which can be upgraded to 50W for faster cutting speeds and cutting thicker materials.
The MIRA series of machines are class 4 laser devices in accordance with BS EN 60825-1:2014 and appropriate PPE including laser safety glasses should be worn whilst operating.
The 120mm deep motorised bed enables easy focus adjustment for larger objects and accommodating a rotary device for engraving cylindrical objects.
The MIRA 5 has a visible red dot pointer for aligning your material before starting work, and comes with auto-focus as standard.
The 300 x 500mm honeycomb bed of the MIRA 5 excels when cutting very dense artwork or less rigid materials such as paper or fabric, as it keeps the material evenly flat throughout the cutting process. The honeycomb bed supports the material whilst allowing heat and debris to dissipate below.
Both the standard 40W water cooled glass CO2 laser tube and its 50W upgrade are suitable for engraving and cutting a wide range of materials such as cast acrylic and laser plywood up to 10mm thick.
Uncoated metals can also be engraved with the use of a ceramic marking compound (50W upgrade recommended)
If you are looking for a smaller machine please take a look at the LS3020 or LS3040 desktop lasers.
Similarly, if you feel that you need a larger bed size for increased productivity please head over to the MIRA 7 or laser cutters page for our entire CO2 range.
