Type 4010 AC Crane Travel Controller, Reversing/Plugging Simple, easy-to-understand system hassmooth, timed or frequency responsiveacceleration and plugging control of wound rotormotor used for reversing drives on travelmotions for all types of cranes. The motor isstarted with all the rotor resistance in the circuit.Contactors in the controller short out theexternal rotor resistance in timed or frequencyresponsive steps under control of a masterswitch, to provide smooth and rapidacceleration. During reversing, a frequencysensitive plugging relay prevents all of thesecondary resistor contactors from closing untilthe motor is practically at rest. This keeps all ofthe external rotor resistance in the circuit duringreversal to provide safe, controlled stopping.Type 4010 reversing-plugging control panelsare suitable for use with AC Wound RotorMotors on crane bridge or trolley travel drives.These panels can also be used on anyreversing drive that is non-overhauling.Panels are arranged for use with separate ACor rectifier operated DC brakes.Suitable for all NEMA and CMAA serviceclasses.Recommended for: NEMA service Class I,CMAA service Class A1, C, D, E, F.
