Pushing the boundaries for high-quality recycled, low-carbon aluminium. Hydro CIRCAL is our brand of recycled aluminium made with a minimum of 75% recycled, post-consumer aluminium scrap. Using recycled aluminium, we drastically reduce energy use in the production phase whilst still offering high-quality aluminium. Operating the most advanced aluminium sorting technology in the industry allows us to provide some of the highest recycled content aluminium available on the market. We are working to increase the amount of post-consumer scrap and add new products under the Hydro CIRCAL brand. Why use recycled aluminium in Hydro CIRCAL 75R? Using recycled aluminium in the production process means that a lower amount of heat (and therefore energy) is generated. This energy usually contributes to CO2 levels in the atmosphere, so by reducing the amount of energy required to create the material, we’re proactively doing our bit to reduce climate change. When we talk about 75% recycled materials, we’re exclusively referring to aluminium that has reached its end of life as a product in use and is brought back into the loop via recycling. This could be aluminium from demolished building projects, food and drink containers or even cars. Once the aluminium is reclaimed, it is cleaned and sorted so only the finest (and least contaminated) scrap materials are put back into circulation. This is to ensure that additional energy isn’t used to recycle it.
