The S5-Simulation-PLC is a software designed by IBH Softec. It is an extended simulation that allows testing for PLC programs. The test is performed on PC with no additional hardware needed. The Extended Simulation S5 has the functions and memory structure of SIMATIC® CPU 945. It executes system commands, floating point calculations, and double word instructions, and supports extended flags (S), and extended function (FX) and data (DX) blocks. The S5-Simulation-PLC software is equipped with 256 timers and counters. The extended simulation S5 communicates with S5 for Windows® through a TCP IP, same as with the communication of the extended simulation S5 with STEP5, using a zero-modem cable.
