With the Ensenso XR stereo vision cameras, 3D data processing takes place directly in the FPGA of the camera. With FlexView2 technology and direct data processing of up to 16 image pairs in the FPGA, Ensenso XR36 series 3D cameras generate point clouds with the highest resolution of static objects with volumes of several cubic meters. Due to the high parallelization of the processing steps, the stereo image data of the two uEye cameras can be processed at very high frame rates. The quality of the generated 3D data increases with the image resolution and each image pair, without the additional time delay caused by data transmission to the host PC.
The 3D camera system is therefore particularly suitable for computing-intensive applications such as bin picking or in-line measurements. Since the camera calculates the 3D data itself, a powerful industrial PC is no longer required. In addition, the transmission of result data instead of raw data places considerably less strain on the network.
Ensenso XR models consist of a powerful projector unit with 100 Watt LED power consumption, two uEye cameras with CMOS sensors (whose mounting distance to the projector is variable depending on the requirements), mounting brackets, three lenses and patch cables to connect the cameras with the XR projector unit. A built-in front light supports calibrating the work environment as well as the image quality of the 2D camera images.
