Description

Expansion joints are components for pipeline, plant, and equipment construction. They are designed to withstand the same loads as plant components and pipelines, but must also be able to absorb additional stresses, movements, oscillations, or vibrations in the axial and/or lateral direction. The main areas of application for tube and flange fabric expansion joints are plants with gaseous media. To meet the individual application conditions in industrial plant construction, precise technical installation specifications from the user are elementary for an optimal expansion joint design. Due to near unlimited material combinations, it is possible design an optimal solution, taking into account the existing mechanical, chemical and thermal influences. In general, the expansion joint design is based on the insulating material, the sealing foil, the carrier fabric and the coating. The movement survey capacity of the expansion joint depends primarily on the model type of the center part [AR]. Most common structures are straight and curved designs and designs with folds.
