Foucault’s current separators, also called eddy current separators (ECS), are equipment separating non-ferrous metals, including aluminium, brass and bronze, from other materials in continuous operation.
Characteristics:
Using the Foucault’s current separator we can separate materials of the following groups:
Non-ferromagnetic metals: undergo a repulsion effect and jump a certain distance in front of the Foucault drum.
Ferromagnetic metals: are attracted and remain trapped by the Foucault drum. They are separated from it at the bottom and behind the drum shaft.
Non-metals: are not affected and continue their natural parabolic fall.
Maximum working temperature:
80ºC
