Machine for belt grinding, polishing and finishing of extrusion screws, large crank shafts and rotors. 11 interpolating CNC axes guarantee a perfect positioning of the endless abrasive belt to the work piece surface and allows the processing of complex work piece geometries.
Machine Characteristics
The machine can be adjusted, in terms of size and fittings, to suit the work pieces intended to be processed.
Respective to requirements the connection elements, for example, can be integrated for external dust collection.
Machine is controlled via 5 fully interpolating axes per processing unit, which will be synchronized with the work piece rotation axis.
Automated processes guarantee reproducible quality.
Work pieces are loaded and unloaded manually from above using a crane.
Application
The IMM grind and polishing machine is designed for grinding crankshafts or barrel extruders with a length of 4500 mm. Other lengths are possible upon request.
The individual fitting of the grinding units aggregates with various contact disks, as well as with guide pulleys, allows for the processing of radii and undercuts, and also of main and pin bearings, when the belt is clear.
Customer Benefits
With crankshafts:
Minimize friction; hence higher engine efficiency
Minimize wear and tear
Possibility of increasing ground radius; hence minimized crankshaft torsion (performance efficiency) as well as minimized load failure
Reduce cycle time: A crank shaft of 3785 mm length can be polished in 1:10 h. This includes polishing of the main, crank pin and radius area.
