Description

EMCheck® LSMZ I: Measure and Prevent Shield Currents The EMCheck® LSMZ I is a specialized leakage current clamp designed to measure leakage and shield currents in industrial data communication. High-frequency shield currents often cause sporadic disturbances in fieldbus systems. By measuring compensating currents in the data cable shields, the actual cause of interference can be identified and addressed, helping to prevent unnecessary mistrust in the installation. Key Features: Measures leakage and shield currents in the range of 30 μA to 100 A Adjustable frequency range from 50/60 Hz to 1 kHz Identifies insulation faults and unwanted earth-leakage circuit breaker shutdowns Features a large opening (2.8 cm) for easy measurement, even in difficult installations Illuminated display with integrated data storage Hold function for continuous monitoring of current levels Practical Use: The LSMZ I is ideal for ongoing measurements of shield currents, and Indu-Sol’s experience shows that shield currents below 40 mA are typically acceptable. By adjusting the frequency range, operators can take targeted actions to reduce shield currents and maintain network stability.
