The principal function of the spark gap consists on two electrodes placed at a determined distance within an insulated container.
When a discharge is producing an electric disruption between the two electrodes, a temporary electric connection is produced.
Spark gap for separation model VX-1 (with or without connection terminals). The separation spark gap is developed to electrically separate the conductive systems that should not have electric contact in their normal state of function. Indicated for the for the connection of antennae devices (TV, communication, etc…) to external lightning protection systems. Equipotential bonding between grounding systems, operating separately under normal conditions, and ensuring their connection if they occurs an overvoltage in the system.
