Side approach mechanisms (SAM) are used for the reliable contacting of electronic components on the electronic units to be tested, which require a lateral contact stroke in the form of a horizontal stroke movement. The contact stroke can be generated in three different ways: stroke-controlled (SAM-H), manually (SAM-M), or pneumatically (SAM-P).
