General purpose motors with aluminum housing, protection up to IP66 and painting system up to C4 are suitable for a wide range of standard drive tasks in industrial environments and humid atmospheres. The design and architecture of the motors ensure maximum flexibility and minimum installation effort. Due to their particularly low weight, they are predestined for applications in pumps, fans and compressors.
In addition to induction (asynchronous) motors for direct-on-line and converter operation, two different synchronous motor technologies are available. These need to be used always with a frequency converter (VSD).
Direct on line, converter capable motors
The proven induction motors from the Innomotics GP General Purpose Motors are optimized for line operation, and are available with efficiency classes up to IE4. All motors have the same power-shaft height assignment. As a consequence, there are no shaft height differences, making it easy to service or replace motors across all efficiency classes. These grid-optimized motors can be also operated with converters.
Converter-optimized motors
The variable-speed-drive motors are based on the platform of the Innomotics GP General Purpose Motors. The design corresponds to the line motors – the mechanical parts are identical. However, instead of the squirrel cage induction rotor, they utilize one of the two available synchronous technologies. Together with an appropriate frequency converter they provide an outstanding performance and reach an extremely high energy efficiency (IE4 or IE5), also at partial loads.
