The spiral pipe cutter is used for the preparation of samples to determine delamination between the various material layers of multilayered polyethylene pipes.
The spiral pipe cutter enables carrying out both examinations to ASTM and DVGW standards. According to ASTM, the angle of intersection must be 45°, while DVGW requires a section with a width of 5 – 10 mm. In both cases the straight length of the spiral must be at least 5 x the pipe diameter. To enable tests to be carried out in accordance with both standards, the spiral pipe cutter offers an adjustable angle of intersection. The pipe can be cut both manually and with an electric drill.
