Description
Among its various products, I.S.G.E.V. S.p.A. also offers this
series of motors derived from the normal self-braking line,
with IP56 protection for both the brake and the motor. Generally used to drive winches for lifeboats and various hatches
on marine vessels, these motors meet all the requirements set
forth by the various Shipping Registers. Considering the duration of each work cycle, these motors do not require any
ventilation. The motor is equipped with a disc brake controlled
by a DC-driven electromagnet.
The brake’s operating principle is based on the use of
resting current, i.e. the brake is operated under the action of
the springs when the power supply to the motor is cut off or
during a power outage.
