In the following some type designations of common variants: HSZ = Indexing chuck with HS principle and rack and pinion drive ZHSZ = Centrically clamping indexing chuck with HS principle and rack and pinion drive ZHSZF = Centrically clamping indexing chuck with HS principle and rack and pinion drive, with hydraulic centrifugal force compensation With these chuck types, workpieces with two opposite contours as well as those with crossing axes (4 x 90°) can be machined. Indexing and locking is carried out by means of a indexing square and a tangential wedge according to the proven HSR principle, centric movement of the two clamping jaws by means of a synchronous ring. The oil feed consists of a 7-fold oil feed with tube bundle mounted at the spindle end. HSZ chucks are used for heavy machining. A typical application is the machining of sleeves on double-spindle lathes. HSZ and ZHSZ chucks trigger the pivoting via gear racks. The entire system is locked by cylinders located in the chuck body. The ZHSZ chuck is optionally available with hydraulic centrifugal force compensation (ZHSZF).
