Forkardt power chucks of the NH series work according to the wedge hook principle. The actuating force applied axially to the chuck piston is transmitted to the clamping jaws via well-dimensioned wedge surfaces located at an angle. A special design of the wedge hook mechanism allows highest clamping forces in connection with excellent concentricity and repeat accuracy by elastic bridging of the guide gap between the force-transmitting inner parts.
As an option, the chucks can also be offered with centrifugal force compensation. The further developed NHF series with its new type of circulation lubrication offers the decisive advantage that regular relubrication via various lubrication nipples is no longer necessary.
The NH modular system enables direct chuck attachment (without intermediate flange) to all common lathe spindles. The required chuck designs for standardized spindle heads can be assembled at short notice by means of appropriate stocked attachments.
