Description

The tailor made solution for measuring bore hole humidity in hardened concrete. The James Instruments Humitest System allows the concrete practitioner to monitor and ensure that a new structure is dry enough to proceed with the next phase of construction. This is especially critical for concrete structures requiring a coating, carpeting or similar floor or covering treatment. Installing such treatments before the concrete is sufficiently dry will typically cause expensive failures in the covering treatment. The only accurate way to ensure that the concrete is sufficiently dry enough to safely avoid expensive re-work is via a bore hole humidity test system, such as the Humitest System™. The system works by first boring a hole into the concrete and inserting a plastic tube in the hole. The plastic tube is then plugged and the system is set to stabilize and the humidity to reach equilibrium. The probe is then inserted into the plastic tube, left to stabilize for a short period of time, and then a reading is taken. The sleeve is recommended to give readings at various depths in the concrete. As concrete moisture distribution is typically very uneven it is recommended to take readings at different depths depending on the structures exposure.
