Module set (transmitter / decoder) for transmission of encoder signals: incremental (HTL or TTL) up to 100 kHz
Fast, highly accurate and interference-free fiber optic signal transmission up to a range of 1,000 m
Options: fiber optic cable break monitoring, galvanically isolated output blocks, aluminium die-cast housing for outdoor applications (IP65)
Description
Fiber optic module sets are used when incremental signals have to be transmitted over long distances without interference. The transmitter module converts the electric incremental encoder signals into optical signals and sends them to the decoder module in the switchboard via a fiber optic cable.
The FO module sets reliably enable high data quality and data transmission frequencies of up to 100 kHz, even with long cable lengths and with EMC influences.
The input and output signals can either be in HTL or TTL format.
Fiber optic cable break monitoring and galvanically isolated output blocks to increase system security are optional.
An aluminum die-cast housing (IP65) is available for outdoor use.
Application for rotary encoders with integrated fiber optic transmitter
If the rotary encoder has an integrated FO transmitter, it is connected directly to the external FO decoder module in the switchboard via an optical fiber. An external FO transmitter module is not necessary in this case.
