Synthetic Rubbers
(EPDM, SBR, CR, NBR, FKM)
EPDM:
Excellent inherent high and low temperature ranges, -40ºC to + 120ºC for standard compounds.
EPDM is inherently resistant to attack by oxygen, UV, ozone, and extreme weather environments and will provide long service in these conditions.
Resistance to chemicals; resistant to many chemicals and solvents. Good resistance to many corrosive chemicals. EPDM performance in hot water and high pressure steam is better than in dry heat.
SBR:
SBR sheets are moderately resistant to aging and temperature, -25ºC to + 70ºC.
Resistance to chemicals; good resistance to acids, alkalis and salts.
Its contact with oils and hydrocarbons is not advisable.
CR (Chloroprene / Neoprene):
Good mechanical and abrasion properties
Good resistance to heat, ozone and weathering.
Flame retardant grades available.
Good adhesion to metal.
Temperature range: -25ºC to + 120ºC
Resistance to chemicals; resistant to inorganic chemicals, except oxidizing acids and halogens.
Moderate resistance to aliphatic hydrocarbons.
