ULTRAFLOW 54 is a static flow sensor based on the ultrasonic measuring principle. It is primarily used as a volume flow sensor for use with the MULTICAL calculators and has been designed for heating and cooling applications where water is the heat-bearing medium. The volume is measured using a bi-directional ultrasonic technique based on transit time. This principle has proven long-term stability and accuracy.
Made of brass or stainless steel, the flow sensors are hard wearing and do not have any moving parts guaranteeing a long life time. A three-wired signal cable is used to connect the ULTRAFLOW 54 flow sensor to the MULTICAL calculator. This cable supplies the flow sensor and transfers the signal from the sensor to the calculator.
A signal corresponding to the flow is transmitted (number of pulses proportional to the volume flowing through the meter). The signal cable is available in 2.5m, 5m and 10m, but if longer distances are required, a Pulse Transmitter can be used.
