ENERGY-LESS HOLDING AND COUPLING KEB bistable brakes and clutches, also known as flip-flop brakes or clutches, make it possible to maintain the switching status without any further power supply. Switching is carried out via a short current pulse exclusively to change the switching state. This results in energy savings of up to 99 % in comparison with conventional clutches, depending on the duty cycle. KEB’s bistable products achieve maximum energy efficiency and are ideally suited for use in battery-powered vehicles as a parking brake, in door and power liftgate systems, and in air-conditioning compressors.
