Ideal for applications such as imaging and advanced cameras for outdoor or harsh environments and high pressure chambers, Knight Optical’s Sapphire Windows are available from stock in a large range of sizes. We can also supply custom windows to your specification.
Sapphire’s superior strength and hardness make it resistant to scratching from severe sand, grit and salty environments, where softer BK7 windows quickly become unusable. Sapphire can be used at high pressures and temperatures of up to 2000°C, making it perfect for pressure chambers and spectrometry instrumentation.
Sapphire Transmits wavelengths from 190nm through to 5300nm and is useful for UV, NIR and IR applications, as well as visible. We have a large stock range of sapphire windows available for global delivery at short notice.
We are also able to antireflective coat one or both faces for visible or NIR applications with a fast turnaround. We have recently supplied large 250mm diameter sapphire windows and 100mm up to 65mm thick.
Knight Optical’s standard stock of Sapphire windows range from 0.5mm to 10mm thick, and from 5mm to 150mm diameter. And we offer a custom options made to your own specifications.
Sapphire’s high refractive index means it reflects more light than glass of fused silica windows. For this reason anti-reflection coatings are recommended.
