Our standard and high power pinhole apertures are used to control spatial intensity in laser applications such as holography. When a laser is correctly focussed through the central aperture of the pinhole the aperture will act to remove any unwanted noise around the input Gaussian beam. This creates an output beam with consistent intensity. Pinholes are also used to control beam size and help prevent oversaturation of detectors and reduce aberrations.
Our stock pinholes are available with laser drilled apertures from 0.5µm to 1000µm and can be purchased from this website or by contacting our technical sales team directly.
Knight Optical offer standard and high power pinholes either mounted or un-mounted for ease of installation into optical systems. Our 25mm diameter mounts are made from quality blackened aluminium with a 7.3mm diameter clear aperture.
