High Voltage Laboratory operates within KONČAR – Electrical Engineering Institute as an integral part of the Laboratory center. The main activities of the Laboratory are developmental, research, and commercial tests of electro energetical equipment. In addition to the standard defined test methods, the Laboratory applies its own methods developed through experience. Laboratory Center of KONČAR – Electrical Engineering Institute Inc. is accredited by the Croatian Accreditation Agency (HAA) in accordance with HRN EN ISO/IEC 17025 for the scope of tests specified in the Accreditation Certificate No. 1035 and the scope of calibration specified in the Accreditation Certificate No. 2057, covered by EA-MLA. Technical capabilities • - Impulse voltages up to 2400 kV • - Front-chopped linearly rising impulse voltage • - AC voltage up to 1000 kV • - Tests with AC voltage consisting of fundamental voltage and harmonic voltages with amplitudes in the range 5-15 % • - DC voltage up to 300 kV • - Wet tests • - Measurement of radio interference voltage • - Measurement of partial discharges • - Accuracy class measurement of instrument transformers • - Temperature rise tests • - Thermal stability • - Capacitance and dielectric losses measurement • - Calibration of electrical field strength meters • - Calibration of high voltage measurement systems • - Calibration of PD calibrators • - Acoustic emission testing of power transformers on site
